Below is the MARDET from the USS Montpelier (CL57). These guys were awarded 13 battle stars during WWII. That tied them for most decorated capitol ship in the Pacific theatre. The photo is circa 1944 and can be found in the ships blue book. My Dad is Corporal Koepke, kneeling 7th from left. He served 20 months aboard the 'Mighty Monty'. Also served 13 months MARDET on USS Republic, a troop transport. Semper Fi, Keith
